Jaisalmer has varied forms of entertainment in which music and dances catch the top position as the city is rich in its multiple cultures and also include other entertainment such as discotheques and cinema theatres. The climate seems to be dry in nature being a deserted region and the summers look extremely hot while winters make a pleasant stay.
The folk songs and folk dance of Jaisalmer bears relics to the unique cultural heritage and traditional legacy of the bygone era that has percolated to the modern times. jaisalmer has few Cinema, but plenty to keep you occupied in the form of traditional dances, a desert light show and the like. Most hotels have some form of evening entertainment for their guests too, so you are unlikely to get bored. Nearly all of them organise cultural programs in the evening. All the major high-end hotels have their private discotheques and are opened till late hours of night.
There are quite a few cinema theatres in Jaisalmer but none of them are up to the international standard. The acoustic are not up to the mark and projections, too are hazy. Stick to the in house facilities in the hotels.
